Stress in New Jersey

View / Download

Stress can be a significant contributor to poor health and well-being, particularly when it is chronic in nature. This report, the second in a series based on a poll of 1,202 New Jersey adults conducted in late 2016, examines the sources of stress or worry reported by New Jersey adults overall and by factors such as income, not having enough money, gender, race-ethnicity, citizenship, health status, insurance, education, employment, family structure, caregiving, region, and geographical density. Findings are based on stress or worry overall in the past month and a series of questions about different stressors such as personal health, health of a family member, job, family relations, finances, and time pressures.
